Field Trip is a permanent public artwork commissioned by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Medical Center College of Dentistry, in collaboration with Nebraska Arts Council and Healing Arts. Its title is a reference to the academic setting as well as the idea of a field of study. Field Trip creates a calming, soothing atmosphere in the waiting area of the Center's College of Dentistry. The sun sweeping across the sky activates the work with glowing light and shadows that change throughout the day. The abstracted circuit diagram suggests movement and technological advancement.
